SPIDER-MAN FRANCHISE: Drew Goddard Thinks A 'Godzilla' Sized 'Sandman' In SINISTER SIX Could Top DOCTOR STRANGE

In a email with the subject line "[] Marvel Starts Doctor Strange Search: Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch Early Wish Listers" from back in June, Drew Goddard pens an email to Amy Pascal in which he appears to talk about writing up a note to Tom Hardy about why he should choose Sinister Six over Doctor Strange (he would of course end up picking DC Comics adaptation Suicide Squad over both). Here the ridiculous sounding email from Goddard it is in its entirety:

I'm gonna write him up a note this weekend. But, off the top of my head, some possible talking points are:

- We're doing something different - it's time to celebrate the bad guys for once.
-We're inspired by the classic team/mission of movies: Dirty Dozen, Magnificent Seven, Guns of Navarone. We want that spirit, that SWAGGER.
- If the Spider-Man franchiseis the Beatles, then we're the Sex Pistols.
-Flint Marco is gonna steal the show.
-The character is pure id - the anarchic enthusiast of th…

THE INTERVIEW: YouTube, Sony in Tentative Deal to Stream ‘The Interview'

Reports are coming that Sony Pictures Entertainment has struck a tentative deal to stream “The Interview” on Google’s YouTube starting on Christmas Day, the same day it will have a limited theatrical release, according to CNN.

Under the preliminary pact, fans of the controversial movie — a spoof that prompted a major cyber-attack by North Korea against the studio, according to U.S. officials — could pay a rental fee on YouTube to watch it on the world’s biggest Internet-video platform, per the report. Pricing info is not available.

In addition, “The Interview,” which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as two bumbling American TV journalists tasked with assassinating North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, will be available for rental at Google Play on on a Sony-owned website, Re/code reported. Sony is expected to sign additional digital distributors.

Sony last week pulled plans for “The Interview” Dec. 25 theatrical bow after hackers threatened moviegoers with 9/11-style violence — and major chain…

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E: Henry Cavill And Armie Hammer In Another New THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Still

We've seen Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger looking rather suave in Guy Ritchie's The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,(ABOVE) but the latest sees the two spies armed and ready for action as they team up to stop a mysterious international criminal organization

Henry Cavill (“Man of Steel”) stars as Napoleon Solo opposite Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”) as Illya Kuryakin in director Guy Ritchie’s action adventure “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” a fresh take on the hugely popular 1960s television series. Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” centers on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin.  Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology.  The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished Ger…

Last month, is was reported that Wahlberg would team up with his Lone Survivor director Peter Berg ("Hancock") for a film adaptation of the 1970s television series The Six Million Dollar Man, aka The Bionic Man, which starred Lee Majors ("The Fall Guy").
While promoting his new movie The Gambler, Mark Wahlberg chatted with the entertainment website, Collider, about his upcoming film project The Six Billion Dollar Man. Though, he won't get to it until he has finished Deep Water Horizon.
Wahlberg briefly spoke of the project with Collider:
Any plans for you to be a superhero in the future?
WAHLBERG:  We’re talking about doing Six Billion Dollar Man, which is very much a superhero, but I don’t have to wear any kind of spandex cape.  So that would be cool.  Howard Gordon is writing the script and people are talking about doing it, but we got a great, great idea and it’s something that’s been in the pipeline for quite some time, so hopefully if we get the script rig…

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON: Mark Ruffallo Talks AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON; Reveals Banner's Role In Creating 'Ultron'

Mark Ruffalo talks here about Bruce Banner's role in creating Ultron alongside Tony Stark, why his character is struggling to transform back from the Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the "goofy stuff" Joss Whedon will bring to the darker looking sequel.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is still shrouded in secrecy, but Mark Ruffalo offered up at least a few new details in a recent interview with Total Film Magazine. For a start, it appears as if Iron Man won't be the only one kicking himself for creation the sequel's titular villain! "Banner's been living in Stark Tower. They've been working side by side and Bruce has his own lab now. He's doing work that augments Tony's own, which could lead to an experiment going wrong..." Could this be part of the reason why we saw that battle between Hulk and the Hulkbuster in the trailer? We'll have to wait and see, but Bruce will be getting a lot closer to at least one of his fellow Avengers! "…

THE INTERVIEW: Sony To Release This Christmas In Select Theaters And VOD!!!

After Sony Pictures made the decision last week to pull Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg's latest comedy The Interview from its forthcoming Christmas Day release in theaters, they've decided to send the film out after all. The Wrap reports that Sony is distributing the film in participating theaters as well as VOD on Christmas Day, despite the threats dished out by Guardians of Peace. This comes just after the Art House Convergence, a national coalition of independent movie theaters, petitioned to ask Sony to let them release The Interview for America to see. We're just glad the film is getting released.

Specific details on participating theaters haven't been revealed yet, but here's a couple tweets:

ANT-MAN: Trailer Has Been Classified, Should Be Released Soon

The first trailer for Ant-Man has been classified by the Alberta Film Classification board.

A trailer is usually released shortly after it is classified. It’s unclear what film the trailer would run in front of, however. The only Disney release in close proximity is Into the Woods, opening on Christmas Day, which may be too close to have the trailer ready for. However, it’s not unheard of for a studio to advertise a major film in front of another studio’s release, so perhaps it will appear in front of an unexpected film in January.

The trailer’s runtime is 1 minute and 48 seconds, so it will be more than a simple tease, and the trailer (not the film itself) is rated PG, so it will likely run in front of a film with a similar or lesser rating. The trailer will likely be release online shortly after it’s theatrical debut, if not before that.

Ant-Man opens July 17, 2015, and also stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “Ti” Harris, David Dastmalch…

STAR TREK: Justin Lin Will Direct Star Trek 3

Fast & Furious 6 director Justin Lin will take on directorial duties for Star Trek 3 following the recent departure of Roberto Orci, Deadline reports.

Lin, who is generally credited with salvaging the floundering Fast & Furious franchise and turning it into one of the biggest box-office draws in Hollywood, directed four of those films and has become one of the most sought-after big-franchise directors in the industry, attached to Universal's The Wolf Man and an untitled Bourne Identity sequel, the fate of which is uncertain following the recent revelation that star Matt Damon and filmmaker Paul Greengrass will return to the series.

He's also directed episodes of Sony's acclaimed sitcom Community and HBO's award-winning True Detective.

Deadline says that while Paramount's Star Trek wish list featured a number of high-profile names, Lin was the only one actually offered a job. Fan-favorite candidate Jonathan Frakes, who starred in Star Trek: The  Next Genera…

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Amy Adams Talks "BVS", Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck And Her DC Future

In a recent interview with Moviefone,"Man of Steel" actress Amy Adams talked about a number of things concerning the much talked about sequel to "MoS", Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, plus other things also.

When asked about Ben Affleck's interpretation of Batman she responded with "He's hot! Sorry, Jen. I have the utmost respect for your relationship, but he looks fantastic. And the work that I did with him, I think it's going to be great." Now ignore the whole hotness part and it would seem that the controversial casting of the Caped Crusader is paying off!!

Adams goes on to talk about Gal Gadot and how it was fantastic: "It was fantastic. I didn't get to work with Gal that much but just having another girl on set, when I did get to work with her, was so much fun. That kind of energy was great. I worked away with the people that I worked with before, which was wonderful." This would go with her previous comment on Wonder W…

WONDER-WOMAN: Movie Not Greenlit?

Vulture have posted a lengthy profile on Michelle MacLaren, who has signed on to helm Wonder Woman for Warner Bros. Though they do ask her about this, MacLaren obviously can't go into too much detail, though it seems that for the moment there really aren't many details to give anyway. The Game Of thrones/Walking Dead director does say that there's still no script or release date, and that the studio haven't actually given the project the green light yet. That'll happen in due time of course (barring any unforeseen hiccups that is), and we recently found out that Pan scribe Jason Fuchs was in negotiations to pen the script with MacLaren overseeing so there should be some movement on that soon too. Here is the pertinent portion of the article. There's not much there, but these are MacLaren's first comments on the matter since landing the gig.
"I ask the director for details about the DC Comics epic Wonder Woman, which she was picked to direct after a le…

Chewbacca and BB-8 should need no introduction, but what about the other three? Well to the left of the little droid appears to be a figure of Daisy Ridley's character, Rey, and next to her is what looks to be Jon Boyega's Finn, but out of his Stormtrooper gear and in some civvies.

Finally we have the mysterious masked man (woman?), who resembles a character from some of the leaked concept art that's believed to be the person we see wielding the Lightsaber in the trailer, Kylo Ren. Another theory is that it might be whoever Gwendoline Christie is playing, as she's rumoured to be some sort of imperial inquisitor type.

What do you guys think? Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released o…

THE INTERVIEW: It Will Eventually Be Released

Though the world won’t get to see it on Christmas Day, The Interview will eventually be released, according to Sony Pictures.

Sony lawyer David Boies confirmed yesterday morning that Sony will eventually release the controversial comedy. Though Boies said that the studio has “been fighting” to release The Interview, he said that he was not sure when and how they actually do it.

“It will be distributed,” Boies clarified in an interview with Meet The Press. “How it’s going to be distributed, I don’t think anybody knows quite yet. But it’s going to be distributed.”

The Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy, The Interview, became an international discussion for its story about the attempted assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The plot, which openly mocked Jon-un, lead to North Korean hackers dismantling Sony’s internal affairs, then threatening any moviegoer who went to see the film. After the threats were made last week, Sony decided not to release the film on December 25th a…

DOCTOR STRANGE: Scott Derrickson Teases Dr. Strange

More Dr. Strange Teasing has come from Director Scott Derrickson this evening it seems. Of Course this isn't from the film or anything just yet but it does tease the lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role and is also some pretty cool artwork!

SPIDER-MAN FRANCHISE: Channing Tatum As 'Venom'? Here's Who Else Sony Wanted For SINISTER SIX...

In emails from late May (before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ended up being a critical and commercial failure and fans recoiled at the idea of a movie starring The Sinister Six), the spinoff was moving along at a steady pace. However, by the time October rolled around, there was talk of it also featuring Spider-Man, Venom, and Carnage. November meanwhile would see a deal with Marvel begin to fall into place...and then quickly fall apart if some reports are to be believed! Regardless, The Sinister Six has likely gone through a lot of iterations by now, but that makes the following no less interesting. If the movie does somehow happen? Here's who Sony might want!

Thanks to musician Val Broeksmit of Bikini Robot Army (who sifted through these emails for us and provided us with proof of their authenticity), we know who Sony were considering for some of the key roles in The Sinister Six. Unfortunately, first names are used in some instances, so we couldn't quite figure out who was who…

DAREDEVIL: That's A Wrap! Marvel And Netflix's DAREDEVIL Completes Principal Photography

Daredevil's director and showrunner Steven DeKnight has remained notoriously tight-lipped, refusing to give much away about his latest project for Netflix and Marvel Studios. As such, fans have been relying on set pics and speculation for the time being. However, it seems we may not have to wait much longer for some real news, as DeKnight confirmed earlier today on Twitter that filiming has concluded on the project - waving a fond farewell to city of New York in the process. Could there be a possible release date or trailer around the corner?

Thanks to the cast and crew for an amazing experience directing the season finale of #Daredevil. Goodby, NYC. Peace and love!
— Steven DeKnight (@stevendeknight) December 21, 2014 Of course, this is just speculation for the moment, but with Marvel's next Netflix project, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, also due to start filming for a 2015 release soon, it's possible a big announcement isn't too far away. What do you guys think? When will …

FAN-MADE STUFF: Marvel Vs DC Trailer

A clear fan of both Marvel and DC comics has made an awesome trailer of a "Marvel VS DC" movie. Alex Luthor the fan who made this trailer uploaded it today check it out below:

Earlier this month, he debuted this fan trailer for the highly anticipated Suicide Squad film too:

This goes to show that there is a multitude of creative people out there that should be offered jobs from the likes of Marvel or even DC because they are passionate fans, who are just today's DaVinci or Van Gogh!

JAMES GUNN: Whatever Else He Does For Marvel Will Probably Be In Marvel Cosmic

To the surprise of no one, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn isn't looking to become the next guy to jump onto an Iron Man or Avengers sequel.

During a lengthy podcast interview, the filmmaker was asked whether he might take on another Marvel property outside of the world of the Guardians, and Gunn indicated that it's likely anything he did for the studio would be at least tied to the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe that he helped establish with this summers' biggest hit.

"Well, I have old answers that I used to say which were like Hit-Monkey and Thunderbolts and the like, but DC is doing Suicide Squad, so I'm not so sure Thunderbolts are applicable anymore," Gunn admitted. "Sadly, but looking forward to Suicide Squad. But for me, it really is about...whatever I do for Marvel will probably be characters within Marvel Cosmic, which would be characters which are connected to this part of the universe. And if I told you too much who I'm int…

THE MAN FORM U.N.C.L.E: New Image Featuring Henry Cavill And Armie Hammer

Warner Bros. have now released the first official still which offers up a look at the very suave Henry Cavill (Batman v Superman) and Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger).
The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him an…

AVENGERS/GUARDIANS: Guardians Of The Galaxy Does Not Exist As A Prequel To Avengers 3 And 4 According To James Gunn

During a lengthy podcast interview, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has again reiterated that the film is its own entity distinct from the Avengers franchise and shouldn't be viewed as just another step toward Infinity War.

Asked about the potential for a team-up between the Guardians and the Avengers, Gunn started by joking that his answer would be the only part of the interview anyone listens to, now that it's been asked.

"The last thing I said was something about how the Guardians, we really are mostly focused on creating the Guardians as their own separate universe, creating the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe. It isn't all about leading towards Avengers," Gunn said. "We're not subservient to The Avengers. Whether or not at some point, some Guardians and some Avengers meet up and meet somewhere in the world, whether it's two years from now, three years from now, four years from now, fifteen years from now...I'm not going to say…

SUICIDE SQUAD: Potential Spoilers Leaked

A reddit user has posted about potential spoilers regarding the upcoming, Suicide Squad. In the post, the user explains that he's part of a focus test. Focus tests generally focus on finding out what audience members may like, and dislike about your film. In his post the user, named oldcomicbookfan says:
OK so I apologize if I don't do this right, this is my 1st time on reddit and my first time posting. The reason I'm posting is because I spent a good hour over at Warner Brothers with a few people; and they did a focus test group regarding the upcoming film: Suicide Squad.
They made this apparent from the focus test, but a few of these things were set in stone, others were still a work in progress. This is not uncommon for a movie being focus tested. The filmmakers are still ironing out parts of the script. the user continues,
First thing they did was quiz us on our knowledge on the Suicide Squad; there were a lot of questions about our knowledge on the new 52 Suicide Squ…

ANT-MAN: Possible Details On How ANT-MAN Will Connect To The MCU Revealed

Marvel's Ant-Man is perhaps Marvel Studios' most interesting project at the moment. We know very little about it other than a basic synopsis, but more importantly we know even less about how it will fit into the larger MCU. We've heard about cameos from Hayley Atwell and John Slattery as Peggy Carter and Howard Stark, but beyond that nothing. Well, a rumour that recently came across should shed some light on how Ant-Man will factor into the MCU in future movies. Before we continue, be sure to take this all with a TON of salt. The website isn't necessarily the most reputable, but let’s, for now, give them the benefit of the doubt.

According to StarLog, Hank Pym will not only come across Howard Stark and Peggy Carter in the 60s flashback scenes. Supposedly he will also encounter 'a young military hot-head by the name of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross', who was played by William Hurt in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. But that's not all. The article goes on to e…

SONY HACK: North Korea To U.S. On Sony Hack: Let’s Work Together To Find Culprit

After slamming the United States that its regime is responsible for the hack attack on Sony Pictures, North Korea proposed that both countries form a joint investigation to find the culprit. Both the Associated Press and CNN are reporting that North Korea is warning of serious consequences should Washington D.C. fail to comply with a joint probe that would Pyongyang was innocent of  cyberattack. Analysts say it’s a typical maneuver by North Korea to show its sincerity, even though the U.S. would never collaborate. On Saturday, an unidentified North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman in Pyongyang proposed the joint investigation with the U.S.. “Whoever is going to frame our country for a crime should present concrete evidence,” the state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Saturday adding “America’s childish investigation result and its attempt to frame us for this crime shows their hostile tendency towards us.”  The FBI announced earlier this week that North Korea was responsible …

AVENGERS:AGE OF ULTRON: Detailed Look At Age Of Ultron Figures Including The Hulkbuster

A Hong Kong based website, Toy People, has posted a ton of images from the Toy Soul 2014 expo which featured the collectibles. The images give us looks at the new costumes for Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor, and Captain America. We also get a look at the Hulk who looks the same for two consecutive films for the first time ever.
But, the really interesting images are the Hulkbuster armor. We saw it briefly in action in the trailer for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but these new looks are incredibly detailed and almost made me consider making this an I Want That column. The figure looks fully articulated and really shows off the magnitude of Tony Stark's anti-Banner gear. There is also a second Iron Man figure that looks like either a severely damaged Mark 43 suit or something affected by Ultron. All of these figures look worthy of being added to your collection and offer more questions about what is coming to theaters next year.
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON opens on May 1, 2015.

When Tony Stark …

JAMES BOND: Sony Want THOR Star Idris Elba To Be The Next JAMES BOND

There's been a lot of talk about the next James Bond being played by a black actor, and one name which keeps coming up is Luther and Thor: The Dark World star Idris Elba. He's even expressed interest in the role, revealing in a reddit Q&A not too long ago that, "Yes, if it was offered to me, absolutely," he would play the Ian Fleming creation.

Just like many of us think Elba should be next 007, so too does Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal according to more leaded "Sony Hack" emails unearthed by The Daily Beast.

In an email from January 2014 (so quite some time ago, and an indication that the good stuff in these emails is now reaching an end), she's quoted as saying, "Idris should be the next bond." It's something they've thought about then, but as Pascal will more than likely be out of a job soon as this scandal worsens, her opinion may not matter...

WONDER WOMAN: Six Scripts To Choose From?

While Warner Bros. has been fairly open about how difficult it is to get the tone of Wonder Woman right in live action, a new report indicates that even with a movie planned for 2017, the studio isn't totally finished fine-tuning yet.

Screenwriter Arash Amel tweeted yesterday, "Someone just told me six writers have been hired to simultaneously write six versions of Wonder Woman movie. WHAT?"

In the conversation that followed, there were claims that hiring so many screenwriters to "pick the best one," not unlike what they did with two scripts on Aquaman, may be against Writers Guild rules and land Warner Bros. in court or at least arbitration. Badass Digest's Devin Faraci said that the version he heard was that elements of various scripts would be incorporated into the final project, but commenters seemed nonplussed by this response.

Another commenter noted that there were multiple versions of The Bourne Legacy that eventually became one film.

UNCHARTED: Mark Wahlberg Still Attached?

Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg was attached to star in the big screen adaptation of the hit PlayStation video game series back when David O. Russell was directing, but we've now learned that he's still very much the frontrunner to play Nathan Drake!

Uncharted has been in development for a number of years now, and the fact that the critically acclaimed video game series still hasn't received the big screen treatment is baffling to say the least. Sony have certainly tried, and a number of writers and directors have been attached at one point or another. The latest is Horrible Bosses helmer Seth Gordon, while franchise fan and Zero Dark Thirty scribe Mark Boal is writing the latest draft of the script. Who will star in the movie? has seen an email between Sony execs including Amy Pascal and Jonathin Kadin which reveal that back in June a meeting took place between Gordon and Mark Wahlberg (who was attached to the project a number of year…

To help Peggy clear Stark's name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call--whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison...or worse. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley an…

DAREDEVIL: Iconic Red Costume Will Be IN Netflix's Daredevil

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Daredevil will eventually wear his iconic red costume in the Netflix series set to debut in 2015.

The first images of Daredevil in action have featured a much simpler, black costume inspired by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr.'s Daredevil: The Man Without Fear miniseries, and showrunners have, up to now, not commented on whether the "real" Daredevil costume would eventually appear in the show.

Here's what they had to say about it:

‘devil will eventually get his iconic red costume, but first he’ll wear the black duds seen here—inspired by Frank Miller’s graphic novel Daredevil: Man Without Fear. For Cox, the biggest challenge was deftly navigating Murdock without using his eyes. Simple things like making breakfast or getting dressed suddenly become trickier than fighting bad guys. “Like, I put on a shirt but I can’t look where the buttons are, because Daredevil wouldn’t know where the buttons are. ANT-MAN: Evangeline Lilly Talks About Ant-Man

Evangeline Lilly talks about Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and how it fits in the MCU plus what her character's history was like and who set up the first iteration of the Avengers!

While Janet Van Dyne’s ultimate fate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains unknown, Evangeline Lilly - who will play Janet’s daughter, Hope Van Dyne, in Ant-Man – seems to have revealed that Janet did have a superhero career at some point.
“I thought Edgar’s idea to blend the [Hank and Scott] stories was brilliant,” Lilly tells BuzzFeed. “You’re going to have fans up there who insist that you tell the story of Hank Pym, and fans up there who will be more on the Scott Lang side of it.…I think we are going to come close to pleasing them all. And what’s cool is that, you know, Janet Van Dyne is my mom. Hank Pym is my father. I was raised by two superheroes. I’m no schlump. I’m a pretty smart, competent, capable, kick-ass female. She’s very cool.” In an interview with CNN, Evangeline Lily may have hinted …

THE INTERVIEW: President Obama: Sony Made a ‘Mistake’ In Pulling ‘The Interview’

President Obama said that Sony Pictures Entertainment  on Friday, after the FBI announced that North Korea was responsible for the cyber attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment.

“Yes I think they made a mistake,” he said at a press conference, in response to a question on Sony’s decision. He cited what would happen for other types of films, like documentaries that certain foreign regimes don’t like.

“We can not have a society in which some dictator some place can start imposing censorship in the United States,” he said. His opinion on Sony’s decision to pull the movie was in line with a number of industry voices who wondered if it set a bad precedent.

He added that “We cannot start changing our patterns of behavior any more than we stop going to a football game because there may be a possibility of a terrorist attack.” He cited the case of the running of the Boston Marathon this year after a terrorist attack a year earlier.

The FBI announced on Friday that they have concluded that Nort…

THE FLASH: Mark Hamill Says Fans Will Be "Pleased" With The Flash's New Trickster

Mark Hamill is set to star as the supervillain Trickster on The Flash this spring, a role that he is reprising from the '90s Flash series that ran on CBS. But when Hamill returns to the world of the Scarlet Speedster, he won’t be the same prank-pulling rogue that old TV audiences may remember him as.

The CW described Hamill's new Trickster as “an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights.” In the episode, Hamill’s darker Trickster will help The Flash stop a new, imitation Trickster who is aping his style of chaos.

But Hamill assured fans that they have nothing to worry about with his new Trickster, saying that fans will enjoy the unexpected twists on the character.

“When they asked me to be a part of it, the last thing I was thinking was that I would be returning to that specific role, but I think you’re going to be really pleased with what they’ve come up with,” Hamill told IGN. “It was totally unexpected.”

Hamill, who will also reprise his Luke Skyw…
