Charlie Cox Talks DAREDEVIL

Actor Charlie Cox was battling a case of food poisoning last night but still appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to promote Marvel's Daredevil collaboration with Netflix.
Here's what he said:

Charlie explains Daredevil to Letterman.
"It's a new collaboration between Marvel and Netflix.  And Daredevil is one of the most beloved superheroes.  He's blind, which is interesting - his disability is his strength.  As a 9-year-old boy, he was blinded in  a road accident where he was saving an old man crossing the street.  There was a chemical spillage that went into his eyes and the byproduct of that accident is that his senses were heightened to such a degree that he can operate better than a seeing-person. "

On how the Netflix-model will benefit the show.
"We're very much encouraged to talk about binge-watching.  I think [binge-watching] increases viewership.  It seems to be a proven model with the way people like to watch television these days…

Dwayne Johnson Talks Why He Wanted To Play BLACK ADAM

Talking to Digital Spy in the video interview above to promote Furious 7, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson reveals why he decided to choose the role of Black Adam over Shazam in the 2019 movie. "Because I felt ultimately, and this is with all due respect to Shazam/Billy Batson, it's a mythology that I love; it's been with me for almost ten years now; what made me choose Black Adam? I just felt Black Adam was inherently more interesting to me because I felt there were more layers to Black Adam starting out as a slave and then ultimately becoming the anti-hero who we enjoy today." To hear even more from the actor (including how fans influenced his decision), keep watching the video.

Scott Eastwood To Play 'Steve Trevor' In SUICIDE SQUAD

According to Latino-Review, they've learned that Scott Eastwood will make a cameo appearance as Steve Trevor in Suicide Squad.

In "The New 52", he's part of A.R.G.U.S. and plays a key role in helping Wonder Woman acclimate to her new surroundings. They also have a brief romance which obviously didn't end particularly well what with Diana now being in a relationship with Superman! Regardless, Eastwood playing must be playing the character here in order to set up a bigger role in Wonder Woman, and you have to wonder just how much of a part both A.R.G.U.S. and Amanda Waller will play in that and Justice League.

The site adds that Raymond Olubowale will have a minor role as a member of Waller's security team and that he'll also be providing  motion capture in order to bring King Shark to life!

Hayley Atwell Wishes UK To Get AGENT CARTER

Hayley Atwell ("Captain America: The Winter Soldier") attended the 2015 Jameson Empire Awards and presented the award for best Male Newcomer. While she was there she was asked about the status of Agent Carter airing in the UK.
"I think it will later on in the year," Hayley Atwell said. "There is a really chance that the UK is going to get it. There must be a slight bidding war for the channel at the moment. Fingers crossed it won't be too long."
All 8 episode of Marvel's Agent Carter mini-series have aired stateside on ABC, but for fans across the pond they'll have to hold their breathe as the show doesn't currently have a UK broadcaster. The UK's Channel 4, which aired Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., already said they have no interest in acquiring the rights to Agent Carter.
Listen to Hayley's comments on Agent Carter in the video below, starting at the 2-minute mark.

New DAREDEVIL Character Posters

With it's premiere date just under two weeks away, Netflix and Marvel have accelerated promotion for "Daredevil." In addition to recently dropping a new promo and TV spot, the series now has a quintet of new character posters featuring five of "Daredevil's" major players.

Featured in the new set of posters are Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. The individual posters, which all join together to form one long image, share a setting with the most recent motion poster. The neon-filled streets of Hell's Kitchen have played just as a prominent role in the show's marketing as they surely will in the series itself.

Netflix has also released a synopsis for the series, which arrives on the streaming service on April 10: "Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock fights against injustice by day…

Simon Pegg Shoots Down Idris Elba Klingon Rumours For STAR TREK 3

Last week brought a major rumor that Idris Elba would be playing a Klingon villain in Star Trek 3. So inevitably, this week brings a stringent denial of said rumor. Star Trek 3 star and writer Simon Pegg says in no uncertain terms that the talk isn’t true — the Klingon part of it, anyway. The Idris Elba part might still be.

Pegg shot down the Idris Elba Klingon rumors in a chat with Absolute Radio:

That’s not true. No, no, no. I heard there’s a rumor he’s been spoken to about stuff, so he may be in the film but he won’t be a Klingon. [Laughs.] Or maybe he will!

If anyone should know whether Elba will be playing a Klingon in the next film, it’s Pegg. Not only is he a star and a fan, he’s writing the damn thing. But just because he knows doesn’t mean he’s willing to say. Remember, this is the same guy who insisted that those Benedict-Cumberbatch-as-Khan rumors were just “a myth.”

At least we can trust Pegg when he says he’s working hard to deliver a satisfying movie. “It’s enormous pres…

Angel was played by Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand, but it appears as if the new timeline has altered things enough so that he will be born quite a bit sooner for the 1980s set X-Men: Apocalypse. It's hard to say what's going on here, but Angel definitely appears to be in a cage for the amusement of the crowd as part of some sort of show.

In a movie with Apocalypse, Angel not being included would have been a big mistake. Here's hoping we get to see him become Archangel!

Regardless, we haven't heard who will be playing this character yet, but ripped Eastenders actor Ben Hardy seems like a safe bet for someone who will spend most of the movie with no shirt on!

Ryan Reynolds Is Jacked Up And Ready To Fight For DEADPOOL Rating

Ryan Reynolds ("Just Friends") has posted a new photo that features his newly chiseled body for Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, which is high on muscles and low on body fat. My goodness, he's ripped!

Reynolds is no stranger to working out extremely hard and feeding his body the perfect diet for a superhero film. He has previously come in tip-top-shape for his roles in Blade: Trinity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Green Lantern. Although, he might be in even better shape for the Merc With A Mouth.

Check out Reynolds showing off his latest superhero physique while posing with a young fan.

Possible TRON 3 Title

Earlier this month, we reported that Disney was going forward on a third TRON movie and that filming might begin as soon as this fall in Vancouver. Now Production Weekly that TRON 3 will be titled TRON: Ascension, and start a five-month shoot beginning October:

Joseph Kosinski’s TRON: ASCENSION is planning to film in Vancouver from Early-October 2015 thru February 2016.
— Production Weekly (@prodweek) March 30, 2015
TRON: Legacy did throw out a few breadcrumbs for continuing the story. Notably, “Rinzler” was actually TRON, and Cillian Murphy had an uncredited cameo as Edward Dillinger Jr., the son of TRON villain Ed Dillinger (David Warner). But these few items made it seems like TRON: Legacy was laying down track before even knowing how far its light cycle could ride.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead Cast For DEADPOOL

According to The Hollywood Reporter, newcomer Brianna Hildebrand has joined the cast of Deadpool as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a character who was created (and swiftly killed off) by Grant Morrison during his New X-Men run. She would later reappear when Joss Whedon was writing Astonishing X-Men as a psychic projection created by Emma Frost. The character is a telepath with precognitive abilities, and Hildebrand joins a cast which also includes Monica Baccarin, Gina Carano, and T.J. Miller. According to the site, the actress is "undergoing physical and stunt training", so it could be that she ends up having a major role in the movie.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, D…

Rip Hunter Cast For ARROW/THE FLASH Spinoff

Another superhero is joining the ranks of the CW’s Arrow/Flash spinoff. British actor Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) is set to play Rip Hunter in the superhero team-up show, from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim. Rip Hunter, described as a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit, is the first of 3 DC characters that previously have not been exploited in TV, to join the new project.

The Arrow/Flash spinoff, eyed for next midseason, features three newly cast roles, two of them played by Darvill and Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl), as well as several actors who play recurring characters on Arrow and The Flash, including Brandon Routh (Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (The Flash‘s Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (The Flash‘s Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein) and Caity Lotz whose role is still TBD as her Arrow character Sara Lance was killed …

Hawkgirl Added To THE FLASH/ARROW Spinoff!

It has been a fast rise for young actress Ciara Renée, who graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a degree in music theater in May 2013. Since then, she made her Broadway debut in Big Fish and replaced Patina Miller as Leading Player in the revival of Pippin. Last fall, she made her TV debut with a guest shot on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU. And now, she has landed a lead in CW’s proposed Arrow/Flash spinoff series, playing the role of Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl.

The superhero team-up show, from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, was to bring in three new DC superhero characters never seen on TV, along with a slew of Arrow/Flash recurring fan favorites. Hawkgirl is not expected to be one of them as the character has appeared in a Season 9 episode of the WB/CW drama Smallville, played by Sahar Biniaz, as well as in a couple of animated series including Justice League.

In the new series, Saunders is a young woman who is just beginning to learn t…

Although we've known since the very first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer that Andy Serkis will be playing the villain Ulysses Klaw, it was not confirmed until early last month. So, during last night's Empire Awards where Serkis won the Best Actor honor, the Apes star was finally able to discuss his minor role in the highly-anticipated Marvel sequel. "Well, I think I can absolutely confirm it's Ulysses Klaw now because I think the news is out," Serkis told Empire Magazine last night. "I sort of noticed that people [on the red carpets] sort of knew that I was Ulysses Klaw, so I thought 'It must be out then.'" He then clarified that he has a "tiny" part in Age of Ultron and it did not require weeks of filming. "It was really minimal, but I just loved doing it; it's a great character," he said.

Considering Ulysses Klaw is a primary adversary of the Black Panther, who Chadwick Boseman will be portraying in Captain America: C…

Elizabeth Olsen Talks AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Marvel have lifted yet another embargo on the many Avengers: Age of Ultron set interviews this time for Elizabeth Olsen otherwise known as Scarlet Witch. Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1st. Like you didn’t know.

Question: Could you talk about your Eastern European accent?

ELIZABETH OLSEN: Can I talk about it? It’s something we got to create because it’s a make believe place. So it’s something that Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] and I with the dialect coach got to create together.

What’s the name of the fake country?

OLSEN: That I can’t talk about. But I got to make it up, so yeah.

How are we introduced to your character?

OLSEN: I think you’ve already been introduced. The most beginni…

Marvel and Disney are lifting the embargoes on some of the last on set interviews many journalists participated in when the production was filming last year in London. He talked about his character’s accent, what he did to get ready for the role, the humor in the script, Quicksilver’s relationship with the rest of the Avengers, and so much more.

Question: Can you talk a little bit about your Eastern European accent?

AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON: I can, yeah. We’re doing one. Well, they decided to re-ADR that in the end. I don’t know yet.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you demo it?

TAYLOR-JOHNSON: I don’t think I should do that. But you know, it has been fun. Me and Lizzy [Elizabeth Olsen] have been doing dialect coaching together and trying to get that to sound similar considering that we’re playing twins, brother and sister. But you know, her being American and me British. But yeah, it’s fun, when I…

Anthony Mackie Talks AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Anthony Mackie held a panel at the Emerald City Comicon 2015, where he talked for the first time about his confirmed return as Sam Wilson aka Falcon in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as in the much-anticipated Captain America: Civil War.  When asked to compare Cap & Falcon's dynamic with Batman & Robin's, Mackie implied that his superhero pair is more equal. "With Falcon and Cap, what's so great is there's a mutual respect," he started. "There's a soldier respect. What's great about Age of Ultron and [Civil War] is you get to see their relationship grow." Mackie had then expressed his excitement for Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which he will likely only appear briefly. "Remember the first time you saw a 3D movie, and got a headache, and were like, 'What happened to my brain?'" he asked. "Avengers: Age of Ultron is like that, with The Rock punching you in the face. It's like Disneyland for adults. It's…

Vincent D'Onofrio In Talks For THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Villain

The Magnificent Seven remake director Antoine Fuqua has largely been hiring either the conflicted heroes or someone who needs their help, with Denzel Washington Ethan Hawke, Chris Pratt and Haley Bennett set for the cast. Now he’s on the trail of the film’s main villain, with Vincent D’Onofrio in talks to co-star.

The movie will once more see a small town – in this case built around a gold mine – threatened by a ruthless baron (D’Onofrio, assuming he takes the role) and his gang of thugs. When they kill several people in their attempt to take the place over, a young widow (Bennett) hires a bounty hunter (Washington) to dispatch the bad guys, supplying him with the necessary funds to hire six gunmen to help him in his mission. Which is where Pratt, Hawke and others come into play. Fuqua is busy rounding up the rest of the cast for the film, aiming to kick off shooting within a month.

John Lee Hancock and True Detective’s Nic Pizzolatto are among those who have contributed to the scree…

Do they have that right?  All the characters get to chime in on how they feel about it. That’s exciting because — beyond everybody always asking how do they go to the bathroom and where do they get their food from — some of them are super dangerous. So, how do you let them out into the world?”
