Marvel's Joe Quesada Talks SPIDER-MAN Rights

Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada gave an intriguing response regarding Marvel and Sony's new Spider-Man on his blog when asked about him by an anonymous fan.

Anonymous: Have you seen any visual concepts/early designs for Spidey 2017? Also, what's one of the main things you feel is most important to making this Spider-Man film the best that it can be?
Joe Quesada: The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter’s character right and the rest falls into place.

Ever since Sony and Marvel announced that a new Spider-Man was joining the MCU, people have been debating if they would go back to Peter Parker or use someone different, like Miles Morales. Based on Quesada's comment Marvel still has Parker on the brain. Plus  Doug Belgrad, president, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group said this in the press release for the Spider-Man MCU deal awhile back "Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios share a love for the characters in the Spider-Man universe and have a long, successful history of working together. This new level of collaboration is the perfect way to take Peter Parker's story into the future." So this would just back up the idea that they are redoing the Peter Parker Spider-Man not Miles Morales

Next Spider-Man film will arrive July 28, 2017. Rumor has it that Drew Goddard ("Cabin In The Woods") will direct and it will be titled The Spectacular Spider-Man.
