Phil Lord And Christopher Miller To Write THE FLASH Movie

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are working behind the scenes to develop a story for Warner Bros.’ big-screen version of the DC Comic-based superhero The Flash. They are currently working on a treatment for the studio about the superhero, whose super speed allows him to seemingly break the speed of light and time travel. The character, whose origins began in 1940, have been part of the Justice League at DC Comics and has been given small-screen and feature treatments before, but with Lord and Miller on the case, The Flash will take on a totally different dimension.

Whether they decide to direct is still up in the air. They have not, as yet, chosen their next project. Together they have directed some of the most successful movies at the box office, including Warner Bros.’ animated monster The Lego Movie which was as much as a creative hit as it was at the box office. That one grossed $468.7M worldwide and spawned a spinoff and sequel, which Lord and Miller are both involved with. Specifically, The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego sequel.

The duo also directed Sony’s 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street franchise and wrote and produced the 2009 animated Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs (1 and 2) for Columbia Pictures.
