FAN-MADE SUNDAY #3: A DC Films Tribute, Flash Of Two Worlds, And A Bit More

So this edition of FAN-MADE SUNDAY will be a smaller one but hopefully a good one at best. Sorry for not having one last Sunday, just wanted to take a small break. But none the less for this one I will share a few things, namely a DC Films tribute and Flash of Two Worlds manip.

To start off lets looks at a small tribute made by Simon Colton on YouTube. It comes recent footage for Justice League with audio and other scenes from other DC Films movie. Ceck it down below!

Second to see is a manip of the two live action Flashes standing side by side made by GOXIII on DeviantArt.

Lastly we have a poster created by CAMW1N over at DeviantArt, which is the first look poster with a lengthened view and some added effects to certain superheroes!

Now again sorry for the length of this edition of fan made material but I hope you enjoyed looking at the art above and appreciated them.

Steven Price Discusses Suicide Squad Score Plus The First Track Released

EW had an interview with Suicide Squad composer Steven Price in which he discussed the inspiration for the score, some of his own history, and a little bit more. Water-Tower Music also released the first track from the film.

“Guitar was always my first love, and it was something I never really got into my writing work,” Price told EW about his Suicide Squad score, which features horns, strings, and guitars to make up its soundscape — a departure from the musical fare typically associated with superhero movies. “With this, the moment I saw it, there was something about the way it looks that made me feel like there was a sleazy ’70s sort of thing, and that made me think of David Bowie records, and Station to Station. I ended up doing a lot of stuff with feedback and guitar stuff that was bent out of shape. These things became part of the texture of the score, and when you start combining that with the orchestra, it started to feel like something a bit different.”

“There’s this neon quali…

Geoff Johns Promoted To President Of DC Entertainment

Geoff Johns has been promoted from his previous role, chief creative officer, to now both president and chief creative officer of DC Entertainment. He will still be reporting to Diane Nelson, who remains president of DC Entertainment, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products and president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. (Jim Lee and Dan DiDio, co-publishers at DC Entertainment, will also continue to report to Nelson.)

Johns received the new title when he was promoted to head up DC Films alongside Jon Berg back in May. Already on board to develop the stand-alone Batman movie with Ben Affleck, it has since been revealed that Johns co-wrote the screenplay for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman with Allan Heinberg from a story by Johns, Heinberg and Zack Snyder.

Johns' new title is one of a number of changes to the DC hierarchy in recent months; a number of additional internal moves have been made including John Cunningham going from vp, content s…

So here's a breakdown of their Hall H event with newly made logos for the respective films.

James Gunn, the film's director, brought out some footage for the film that gives us an idea of what the film is going to be whilst sharing some new information about the film. Here's a breakdown of the footage shown:
First was clip features Yondu, Rocket, and Baby Groot (who looks like a toddler version of the twig at the end of Guardians) imprisoned by the Ravagers.
•The Ravagers mistake Groot for a harmless twig that is “too cute” to kill. Yondu and Rocket then proceed to have Groot fetch them Yondu’s head fin (wh…

SDCC '16: New Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Trailer

So the very last trailer Warner Bros. showed off at their Hall H panel was for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Which gives us another look at how the side of Harry Potter world cracks up to be with it being set in New York and searching for "fantastic beasts" rather than in Hogwarts and Potter battling Lord Voldemort.

Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters. The film also co-stars Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight,Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan, and Ron Perlman.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.  Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he migh…

SDCC '16: Kong:Skull Island Shows Kong's Gigantic Stature

The giant monster that was the big bang of giant monsters, King Kong, is set to take to the big screens again in the latest film, Kong: Skull Island, produced by Warner Bros. WB once again released another trailer from Comic-Con this time for the newest monster film. It goes with no saying but this Kong is one gigantic beast fit to take on Godzilla! See for yourself down below!

Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
Kong: Skull Island – coming March 2017 to cinemas - directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and starring Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and John C. Reilly.

SDCC '16: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Trailer

Warner Bros. went on a roll with trailers at Hall H from Justice League to Wonder Woman they kept on with previews and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is no exception. They released it online for our eyes to see and from looking at it, it feels very much like a Guy Ritchie film with the amount of humour and action. This looks to be a fun thrill ride for all!

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.
When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy……

SDCC '16: The Final Suicide Squad Trailer

To close out on Hall H DC Films showed off the final trailer for Suicide Squad which offers tidbits of new footage and new songs with it that are included in the film's soundtrack. I can go on and on about the trailer but it's best I just share it and let you see it.

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
The film stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adew…

SDCC '16: The First Wonder Woman Trailer

The DC Films hype doesn't stop as they have released the first trailer for Wonder Woman and does it pack a punch! It shows us a lot of action, humour, and also a little story elements as well. For me this is a perfect trailer from the visuals to knowing just the right amount or from the beauty of it to the music chosen, it is amazing!

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. SDCC '16: Our First Look At DC Films' Justice League

Well it has arrived and in full force, I am of course talking about our first look at DC Films' Justice League. It was of course shown off at Hall H in Comic-Con with a standing ovation accompanied by the cast themselves overjoyed and why wouldn't they it was straight up awesome! The first look was also paired with the above group photo.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gado…

Prepare for The Hulk to gain gladiator style armour for Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok! Ryan Penagos from Marvel revealed the armour that is over in San Diego Comic Con. Fans will probably take note of its design to mean that the film will take some inspiration from Planet Hulk where The Hulk crashed landed in a planet and was force to become a pseudo-Spartacus. Aquaman Film Gains A Writer In Will Beall

Will Beall has been tasked to write the script for DC Films' Aquaman. He is working off a detailed treatment from filmmaker James Wan, who is attached to direct, and comics author and co-head of DC Films, Geoff Johns.

Warners was developing Aquaman, hiring multiple writers to develop scripts simultaneously. Beall and Kurt Johnstad, a frequent collaborator of Justice League director Zack Snyder, then a major architect of the DC cinematic universe, were hired in summer 2014. Late last year, when Wan was eyeing up the project, Wan’sConjuring 2scribe David Leslie Johnson became another track.

Not long ago, all activity for the film has been under wraps as Johns and Wan were refining the story. Beall was then rehired to write the script, this time as the only writer. He is working with Wan and Johns.

Jason Momoa plays as Arthur Curry, Aquaman, Amber Heard as Aquman's cohort Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Curry's advisor, Vulko. Aquaman is set for an October 2018 date directed by Ja…

SDCC '16: Composer Junkie XL On The Complexity Of The Justice League

A part from the visual aspects of superhero films there is the necessary part which is the accompanying score. Whether it is to lighten a scene or to add adrenaline to an action set piece, scores are needed to elevate a film to a somewhat emotional state. Many examples include the recent "Is She With You?" track from Batman v Superman score which added a high octane rush to seeing Wonder Woman, another is "Beautiful Lie" from the same film which increased the emotionality of seeing the death of Bruce Wayne's parents.

So scores are indeed an essential part of any film and Justice League will be no different, but having said that it comes with the same challenges of scoring. Junkie XL(Tom Holkenberg) the composer of the film was at the Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel at San Diego Comic-Con and was asked about these challenges:

“It is challenging and Hans [Zimmer] and I faced the same issue when we worked on Batman V Superman. Sometimes, every character has …

SDCC '16: Hell's Kitchen's Finest Unite

Netflix and Marvel brought another goodie to Comic Con in the form of a sizzle reel showing a few of their heroes in action, from Daredevil to Jessica Jones everyone excluding Iron Fist can be seen. There is some new footage for Luke Cage in it as well so enjoy!

Also it has been confirmed that Marvel's Daredevil has been given it's third season that has no immediate release date but I would guess it being released after Defenders.

Next stop: Hell’s Kitchen. Daredevil Season 3 is coming soon. #Daredevil — Daredevil (@Daredevil) July 22, 2016

SDCC '16: Luke Cage Is Not To Be Messed With

Another awesome preview that Marvel and Netflix showed at Comic Con this year was of course the series that is around the corner, Marvel's Luke Cage, and boy does it look to be a knuckle breaking action and drama series. It shows just how badass Cage can be, knocking down crooks and tearing up the place.

Marvel's Luke Cage sees Luke Cage after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

SDCC '16: Danny Rand Will Become Iron Fist In 2017

While still far from release, 2017 to be in the range, Marvel's Iron Fist was given a small preview thanks to Marvel and Netflix's panel at San Diego Comic Con yesterday. It is a short tease but it hits some key points of Danny Rand's story, plane crash, landing in a distant place, and coming back to his world.

Marvel’s Iron Fist follows Danny Rand (Finn Jones), who returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. The cast also includes Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum.

SDCC '16: Our First Tease Of Marvel's The Defenders

Yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con, Netflix and Marvel had a huge spread on their properties namely Marvel'sThe Defenders. They showed off a tease that is more of an extended motion poster than an actual teaser preview. However it is a unique tease as it symbolically shows the heroes forming together to "DEFEND" with a voice-over by Scott Glenn who plays Stick in Marvel'sDaredevil.

Douglas Petrie (Marvel’s Daredevil, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Marvel’s Daredevil, Orange Is the New Black) will serve as showrunners for Marvel’s The Defenders, which will debut as shown above in 2017.

GOXII has also created a poster for American Psycho that has a Joker inspired twist in it!

The Kong From Kong: Skull Island Will Be The Biggest Says Director

EW has learned exclusively that the Kong from the upcoming Kong: Skull Island will be the biggest of them all. As the director of the film, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, has explained the very scale we will be dealing with.

“From the size of the skull, you can tell that things on this island are much bigger than audiences are used to with traditional Kong lore,” says Vogt-Roberts. “Our Kong is by far the biggest Kong that you’ve seen on screen, and that translates to a lot of different things on the island.”

"In terms of actual size, our Kong is by far the biggest Kong,” he explains. “Peter Jackson’s Kong ws around 25 feet. The ‘33 Kong ranged between 25 feet and 50 feet, I want to say he was 50-plus feet when he was on the Empire State Building. He varied in size dramatically! The ’70s Kong was somewhere between them.”

“The film takes place in the ’70s,” he explains. “The ’70s was a time where it was believable that we could still be confronted with myth. And there was still unknown in th…

Concept Poster For Doctor Strange Released!

Check out the above concept poster for Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange that was created by artist Ryan Meinerding, to fans attending San Diego’s upcoming Comic-Con International, which runs July 21-24.

Earlier this year Benedict Cumberbatch compared both Sherlock Holmes and Stephen Strange.

“The two men are intelligent,” says Cumberbatch. And? “Finito,” the actor says. “That’s it. Stephen Strange is a lover, he’s a materialist, he’s arrogant, but he’s got a great sense of humor. There are smatterings of the same colors that Sherlock has, but he’s not on the spectrum.”

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts t…

Gal Gadot On Being A Role Model, Working With Patty Jenkins, And More!

Gal Gadot had an interview with Entertainment Weekly where she discussed many things like the physical side to the role of Wonder Woman, working with Patty Jenkins, becoming a role model, and plenty more things.

On the physical side of the role:
I’ve been very active all my life. I was a combat instructor in the Israeli Army. [Laughs] See, everything [in my life] has led to me being Wonder Woman. I gained a lot of body mass after I was first cast in the role. I danced for 12 years and I played a lot team sports: basketball, volleyball. But now I lift a lot of weights. That’s new. I feel much stronger then I was. I feel it on my posture and the way I hold my body. I feel good. I started out very, very skinny and because I gained body mass, I really enjoy the way my body looks… better then I did before. I enjoy the curves. I enjoy the strength, the back, the guns. Now I’m aware of my muscles. And I like it.
On working with Patty Jenkins and her experience with Jenkins: All my life I’ve be…
