Deathstroke To Be The Main Villain In The Batman Solo Film

Well it looks like that footage Ben Affleck shared today has some meaning, as TheWrap's Umberto Gonzalez reports that Deathstroke will be the main antagonist for Affleck's solo Batman film.

Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, Deathstroke, Slade Wilson, first appeared in The New Teen Titans (vol.1) #2. Deathstroke was originally known only as "The Terminator" but with the making of the popular Terminator movie franchise starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (four years later) the name was abandoned to avoid the possible confusion.

Now there still could be a chance that Slade Wilson will appear in Justice League in a cameo capacity and will have a greater role in the solo film.

The Batman solo film will be written, directed, and star Ben Affleck with Geoff Johns co-writing the script with Affleck. The film has no release date set as of now.

Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound a…

Ben Affleck Breaks Internet; Teases Deathstroke!

Ben Affleck, Batman, decided to break the DC fans today by uploading a cryptic and shocking clip of what appears to be Deathstroke in what could be DC Films' Justice League. — Ben Affleck (@BenAffleck) August 29, 2016

As of now nobody knows what's this for, only say Affleck and a few others, but it has begun a frenzy of speculator work by fans, me included. I believe that this is indeed for Justice League and here's why, in the clip we see Deathstroke in the back of a large aircraft with the newest Batmobile behind him, this aircraft is The Flying Fox. This aircraft describes as follows; The plane has three levels. The bottom houses the Batmobile, has seats on the wall, and has a ramp that lowers. The second has a wall armoury of weapons and a cockpit/gunner in the front where Batman (or Alfred in one piece of concept art) controls the weapons. The main cockpit seats two people and is situated at the back of the third level, giving this plane a much…

FAN MADE SUNDAY #6: Justice League Weird & The Blackest Night

For this FAN MADE SUNDAY, I wanted to showcase some trailers instead of manips, photos, etc. So having said that this Sunday, I have a rather weird trailer for Justice League, that is sure to make you feel odd, and I have two The Blackest Night trailers, to which makes for an extraordinary fan trailer.

Aldo Jones on YouTube is known for making absurd versions of trailers for comic-book movies, and he made no exception for Justice League. He took the serious and humour to another level of eccentricity.

UltraSargent delved into making a trailer that is inspired by The Blackest Night storyline that is brilliantly done and is close to the par of bona fide trailers.

AListProductions in conjunction with Ultra, made another trailer for said storyline, and gave his own unique trailer.

And that concludes this edition of FAN MADE SUNDAY, hope you enjoyed the trailers and your week! Have a great one this week!

Captain America No More? Boy Scout Hero Is No More For Infinity War

Captain America no more? It appears that Steve Rogers, the Brooklyn-born hero, will not be the boy scout superhero in Marvel Studios' upcoming film Avengers: Infinity War. He will indeed be a man with no country to his name.

Joe and Anthony Russo spoke about this in an interview with Huffington Post while promoting the release of Captain America: Civil War on home media.

I think him dropping that shield is him letting go of that identity,” said Joe. “[It’s] him admitting that certainly the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making.”

While the cap is no longer a true reality, and he may arise once again for the epic Infinity War in some capacity as there is a reason why he wasn't killed off. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely previously told HuffPost that part of the reason Cap wasn’t killed in “Civil War” is because the Avengers need him.
“There’s a big purple guy coming. He could be very helpful,” said Markus.
The "b…

Chloe Bennet Talks Quake's Rogue Side, Vigilantism, Independence, And Her Journey

Chloe Bennet, star of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will be returning as Daisy Johnson, Quake, for the show's fourth season but in a different way as her character has gone to the rogue side of heroism. Bennet had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where she discussed some things to come for the show, like how long Daisy will stay rogue, Quake's more vigilante side, and some other intriguing things.

Performing the classic Quake pose and more:
It was amazing. I love that it all stems from this hurt that she's going through. It's not necessarily her being this great superhero all of a sudden. She really becomes Quake because of the past she's had and the loss she's dealing with. It's not perfect. That's why Marvel resonates with so many people, the level of imperfection that these so-called superheroes have. She becomes Quake because she goes rogue, because every time she gets close to someone they die. Her mom tried to kill her and her dad had to…

Russo Bros. Talk Infinity War Details, Power Balance, And Spidey

Anthony and Joe Russo were interviewed by IGN while they were promoting the Blu-ray release of Civil War. They discussed a wide variety of things, Infinity War being one of the things talked among other things. The Russos also talked about character arcs, power balance between heroes, and a little bit of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Here are a few of those things explained but be sure to click to the link down below if you want more.

On whether they'll continue to work on characters' arcs singularly for Infinity War like they did for Civil War:
Joe and I, throughout our careers, we've been attracted to ensemble storytelling and it's been a large part of our work, starting with our very first movie Welcome to Collinwood through our TV work with Arrested Development or Community or Happy Endings. We love ensembles. That's part of what we love about our Marvel work as well, so the fact that we get to carry that process forward into Avengers: Infinity War, and not only carry…

Kevin Smith Talks Justice League, Wonder Woman, And David Ayer

Renowned nerd and lover of DC and Marvel, Kevin Smith had an interview with Canoe, where he talked about a few things, most notably DC Films' upcoming ventures Justice League, Wonder Woman, and spoke about David Ayer.

On Justice League:
“The audience that pays to see these things are like, ‘There’s a certain set of standards that we want when we come see these superhero movies, and, yes, most of those standards have been set for us by Marvel… regardless, this is what we want in our superhero movies. We don’t want doom and gloom. We want them to like each other. We want them to have an interplay.’

“It looks like (Warner Bros. and DC Comics) heard that loud and clear and everything that was missing or perceived to be missing from Batman v Superman seems like it’s in full display on Justice League, so I’m on board. I was already on board, but I’m very happy to see that they’re taking that direction.”

Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruc…

Charlie Cox Talks Defenders' Repercussions For Daredevil Season 3

Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil in the hit Netflix series, was at a Wizard World Chicago panel, where he discussed briefly about Marvel's Daredevil's third season and how the events in Marvel's The Defenders will bring a new aspect to the show. He said the following:

He can’t do all this alone. And that’s to say maybe some teamwork – He’s actually going to relinquish [some responsibility]. So whatever lessons he learns in The Defenders will then play into I think season three.

So it could be that Matt Murdoch, Daredevil, may begin trusting people more or may work better with others as a result of working with The Defenders in protecting New York City from enemies unknown.

Marvel's The Defenders will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, as they face their biggest threat yet.

The mini-series event will star Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones, all reprising their roles as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, respec…

Hugh Jackman Shaves Wolverine's Mutton Chops For The Last Time

Wolverine 3 is Hugh Jackman's last hurrah as the berserker raged clawed superhero. Jackman has played the X-man for close to twenty years now with his first appearance in 20th Century Fox's X-Men in 2000.

Jackman took to Instagram showing him shaving the iconic mutton chops, that the character has been known to fashion in any iteration, as a farewell to playing the role.

My wife is going to be very happy. #GoodbyeChops #thedebs A video posted by Hugh Jackman (@thehughjackman) on Aug 22, 2016 at 4:25am PDT
The film is said to be taking inspiration of the Old Man Logan storyline in the comics, and will have Patrick Stewart reprise his Charles Xavier role too.

Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Elise Neal, Eriq La Salle, Stephen Merchant, Boyd Holbrook and Richard E. Grant, Wolverine 3 opens on March 3, 2017.

Wolverine 3 opens in U.S. theatres on March 3rd, 2017, followed by unannounced X-Men films on October 6th, 2017 (possibly Gambit), March 2…

Thor: Ragnarok Set Photos Tease Some Rather Strange Plotlines

Thor: Ragnarok is currently filming down under in Brisbane, Australia, and now a bunch of on set photos have made their way online via Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth. Some are fairly run of the mill set photos with no story titbits about the film itself however there are two that contain somewhat clues of the happenings in the film.
The first is the above picture of Hemsworth's Thor holding parchment up with "177A Bleecker Street" written on it. This address should be a red flag for avid Marvelites as it is the address of the one the only Doctor Stephen Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum in Greenwich Village, New York. Now for me this could be a thing to throw is off Marvel's scent as they have done in the past, changed text on paper, i.e. Cap's list, so this could be a ruse. However it could very well be the real deal and Strange has some cameo, perhaps, in the film to help out Thor.

The second picture is the below image of Hiddleston and Hemsworth chilling beh…

Thor Ragnarok Finds Its Composer In Mark Mothersbaugh

Mark Mothersbaugh has been tasked to score Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok. Mothersbaugh is best known as the lead singer, co-founder and keyboardist of the New Wave band Devo, and has composed The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, Rushmore and Pitch Perfect 2.

A comment on a NeoGaf thread about recent set images, said Mark Mothersbaugh was approached by the director himself to compose the film. The comment goes as follows
No clue if this has been mentioned yet, but Mark Mothersbaugh is doing the soundtrack for this. He had a lot of nice things to say about working with Taika Waititi, he (Mark) isn’t really a blockbuster movie guy, but Taika specifically reached out and sent him a bunch interesting demos and got him on board. The gist I got was it would be a mix of traditional orchestra and then synths. Mark seemed legitimately excited about what they were coming up with, so I’m optimistic this will have a better than normal soundtrack. While at first was scene as a rumour, TheWrap confi…

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 4th Season To Usher In A New Edge To It

In a new interview with CBR, Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb talked a great deal about how this new season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. can usher in a new edge to the show, he also talked about the history of Marvel Television and some teases for the next season.
"By going to 10 o'clock, we're going to be taking on just a little bit more edge, a little bit more grit," Loeb declared. "The show is pretty violent for something at 9 o'clock, but when we get to 10 o'clock, we're going to be just a little hair of something that I think people are going to really enjoy."

Fans where left with many things set in motion, Daisy going rogue and becoming a vigilante of sorts, Coulson becoming a field agent once again and partners with Mack, and more. Jeph commented on these storylines.
"You got a little tease at the end of last season that clearly something's happened to Daisy," Loeb said. "She seems to be on her own. That dang media has…

Marvel Television's Jeph Loeb Discusses Luke Cage's Social Issues

Marvel's Luke Cage is just around the corner and has been discussed greatly by many people. Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb spoke to CBR in an interview last month at Comic-Con International in San Diego further bringing new information about the series and what is to come from it.

"I think, very much, as not just the Head of Marvel Television, but also as one of the executive producers of all of the shows, it really is our responsibility -- not just to Netflix, but to the audience -- to be able to see how rich the Marvel characters are," Loeb said. "It really is incumbent on us to make sure each show has a different feeling to it. when we brought in [showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker], one of the things that we talked about was what makes Luke different. there are some obvious differences in the sense that we're talking about really the first African-American superhero that comes from the street and lives in that world. when we started there, we said, 'What is that p…

Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Doctor Strange's Modern Arrogance

Empire had a talk with Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch, in which he discussed his reaction to the Comic-Con trailer, his realisation of being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, updating Strange to the modern era, and a bit more.

“Some bits made me think, ‘Wow. God. That’s what I’m part of,’” he told Empire, after watching the Inception-style, kaleidoscopic, and trippy city bending. “You have conceptual art that they show you, but you only really realise what you’re part of at the end of the process. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the effects while we were shooting, because a lot of them were real elements, whether it was sets that make a room miniscule, or the costume designs.”

Cumberbatch went on to say what lured him in the superhero film in the first place. “The lure as an actor is the script, the director, Kevin [Feige], and talking about how to make a character written in the ‘60s and ‘70s relevant now,” he said. “To make him slightly less arrogant. Arrogant, but…

FAN MADE SUNDAY #5: Alex Ross' Justice League, Watchtower, And A Dark Tower Poster

Today, I have on display are some brilliant pieces by various users of the web. What's in store are some Justice League goodies, i.e. posters, manips, and an Alex Ross inspired masterpiece. There is also a Dark Tower poster beautifully made along with a "Death in the Family" inspired one-sheet. Enjoy the art ladies and gentlemen.

dan-zhbanov created a rather epic and unique one sheet for Justice League which has all the members along with Steppenwolf, the villain towering above them.

GBRIELGRY designed a poster for The Dark Tower, which is rich in colour and a beautiful landscape to stimulate the eyes. MessyPandas mocked up a manip of the Justice League looking out from their Watchtower and seeing the Last Son of Krypton, Superman in the distance. datrinti crafted a beautiful rendition of Alex Ross' Justice League but with the DC Films counterparts as the members, it is indeed a masterpiece in my view and is worthy of being displayed in the highest of galleries. DC DELIGHTS #7 - Special Edition; The Relatability Of Superman

This edition of DC DELIGHTS is going to be more of an editorial of sorts rather than a bunch of news combined together to make an article, as I wanted to delve into an idea that has been swirling around the internet this week. The topic at hand is the relatability of Superman, or rather DC Films' interpretation of the character. This notion has popped up this week thanks to an in depth interview Forbes' Mark Hughes had with Executive Producer Deborah Snyder, who works closely with DC Films. I'll link the interview down below if you are interested in reading it.
In the interview Deborah said the following about the topic at hand:

[A hero's journey]’s the great thing about our Superman. He is more relatable. Someone said, “It’s so dark,” and I go, “Well, is it dark? He’s going through real problems that we go through as people every day.” To me that’s not dark, that’s life. We’re complicated people. And we’re making him in that way more relatable.
So I don’t think that’s …

MARVEL MINUSTES #1: A Bevy Of Infinity War Updates, Vin's Slip Up, And More.

So welcome to the first edition of MARVEL MINUTES, where I put together Marvel news be it for television, 20th Century Fox, or Marvel Studios. I used to this when I was more active on this site a while back with MARVEL MADNESS but much like comic-books a reboot had to happen.

But enough of that, this week is predominately based on Infinity War updates from the directors of the film, Joe and Anthony Russo, a small one from Vin Diesel and a bit more. Also in the news a confirmation of an old face returning to the world of Ant-Man. With that all said, here is your MARVEL MINUTES.
Anthony and Joe Russo were interviewed by Yahoo Movies when the upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of the summer mega-hit Civil War. In the interview they talked briefly about Infinity War and other things.

They first talked about their support for fans and Anna Kendrick herself campaigning to play Squirrel Girl.“It would be perfect casting, and we’re huge Anna Kendrick fans,” Joe Russo said showing his admiration f…

Zendaya's Role For Spider-Man: Homecoming Revealed[SPOILERS?]

Zendaya Coleman's role has been revealed for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Homecoming. I will preface this by saying that if you want her role still a mystery then click off from this article, but if you're more curious than cautious well then stick around.

Umberto Gonzalez of TheWrap has sourced that Zendaya will be playing the one the only, Mary Jane Watson. Most know her as the love interest of Peter Parker, Spider-Man, and has been played by Kirsten Dunst for Sam Raimi's trilogy, that starred Tobey Maguire as the hero, and would've been played by Shailene Woodley in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, had her role not be cut from the film.

Sony and Marvel have made it clear that director Jon Watts’ reboot — with a script by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers — will focus on a high school-aged Peter Parker.

The cast also includes Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon…

Marvel’s Runaways Is In The Makings Over At Hulu!

Marvel Television has another show in the pipeline, this time partnering with video on demand service, Hulu, for a series revolving around The Runaways.

The Runaways are the children of "The Pride", a super-powered crime ring that had control of Los Angeles for many years. After defeating their parents, the Runaways attempt to make up for their parent's sins by fighting crime in Los Angeles, being the city's official protectors.

"We've known the Runaways' story would make great television," said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, "and being lucky enough to have Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage--who have time and again created shows that speak so genuinely to this exact audience--write and produce the series is nothing short of remarkable."

"I'm a long-time fan of Runaways and couldn't be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian’s characters to life," said Schwartz.

Adds Savage, "Josh and I can…
