Geoff Johns, DC Films' Key Figure

Geoff Johns as many would renown him as DC's key figure, as of late, bringing a new era of wonder and optimism to what was the dark and gritty period for DC Comics, and now it looks as though he'll be just that for the newly established DC Films.

TheWrap's Umberto Gonzalez reports that Johns has been a very important player for DC's movie division recently, as he has been invited by filmmakers like Ben Affleck, James Wan, and Patty Jenkins, to help with their films. Johns' role has been made known as aiding in writing the scripts for Affleck's Batman, Wan's Aquaman, and Jenkins' Wonder Woman.

This is probably going to go in DC Films' favour as Johns has been known to bring in old and new fans along with their admiration for DC properties like his acclaimed work on comics for The Flash, Superman, and most recently his work on Rebirth.

What I take from all of this is that Geoff Johns will be person to make the DC Films' universe be appreciated across all boards, from critics to disgruntled fans, Johns will sail the films of DC into Paradise Island.

Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017; followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, Harley Quinn spinoff, a Man of Steel sequel, and a Batman solo movie are currently without release dates.
