'The Flash' Film May Have Found Its Henry Allen

It looks like Watchmen wasn't Billy Crudup's last venture into comic-book movies as he is being reported by Variety's Justin Kroll to be in talks for DC Films' The Flash.

He, if he is signed on, will play Barry Allen's father, Henry Allen. Henry Allen being of course the accused murderer of his wife's death in the comics.

Crudup will be joining a cast that includes Ezra Miller, who plays Barry Allen aka The Flash, and Kiersey Clemons, Iris West who is Barry's love interest.

Both Ezra and Kiersey will make appearances in next year's Justice League with Ezra having a bigger presence of course.

The film is said to begin production later this year with director Rick Famuyiwa working with a script first written by Seth Grahame-Smith with his own edits to it.

Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017; followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, Harley Quinn spinoff, a Man of Steel sequel, a Batman solo movie, and a Justice League Dark film are currently without release dates.
