James Wan Confirms 'Aquaman' To Shoot In Australia

It has been reported and speculated that DC Films' Aquaman will be filmed in Australia, well know James Wan has confirmed the news himself. Speaking to The Daily Telegraph at the Fox Studios in West Hollywood, where Wan was honoured by the Australian International Award at the Australians in Film Awards, Wan talked about how he always wanted to bring some of his projects to Australia.

“I’ve been wanting to bring a movie to Australia for a long time now, and it’s kind of hard because you don’t really dictate where you shoot your films,” Wan explained.

“But now, I’m in a position of power where I can say ‘If you guys want me to do this movie, this is how I’m going to do it’. It means I can make the film I want to make,” Wan further explaining things.

So there you have it, Aquaman will indeed film in Australia, the question now is when? My guess sometime in the early months of summer of next year.

Jason Momoa plays the titular role, Arthur Curry, he will be joined by Amber Heard as Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko. Aquaman is set for a July 27th, 2018 date directed by James Wan.

Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017; followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, Harley Quinn spinoff, a Man of Steel sequel, and a Batman solo movie are currently without release dates.
