'The Batman' To Film In Spring(?); What Does That Mean For Other Films

Joe Manganiello, Deathstroke, was recently interviewed by Entertainment Tonight at Mohegan Sun’s 20th anniversary party, and he let slip on something regarding Ben Affleck's The Batman.

While asked about his general health and well being Joe replied, “great, man, just getting ready to go shoot Batman in the spring.” Huzzah for avid Batman fans wanting to know when the film begins filming. Concurrently Ben Affleck talked recently about the film, while promoting another, The Accountant, saying how he is still working on the script but is very close to finishing it, I guess he's about ninety-five per cent done at this point.
To give more perspective on this scheduling of filming, it has been reported that Rick Famuyiwa's The Flash will begin production in January in Leavesden Studios, recently used for Justice League, with James Wan's Aquaman filming sometime during the summer of next year in places like Australia. So with that in mind in 2018, The Flash will release first, then I feel that the next one will actually be Aquaman followed by The Batman as Ben might want to spend more time on the film, while the other two directors have had extra time to develop their respective films beforehand.

The Batman is written by Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns, directed by Ben Affleck, and stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Batman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, JK Simmons, who plays Commissioner Gordon, and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke.

Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017; followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, Harley Quinn spinoff, a Man of Steel sequel, The Batman, and a Justice League Dark film are currently without release dates.
