'The Flash' Film Will Still Have Kiersey Clemons As Iris West

Despite losing an important role of director in Rick Famuyiwa, The Flash will not lose Kiersey Clemons as Iris West. The Dope star will stay on as the cohort of Barry Allen, The Flash played by Ezra Miller.

"Rick was one of the main reasons I wanted to do the movie," Clemons explained"So him not being a part of it is obviously very upsetting to me."

Kiersey worked with Rick before on the 2015 Sundance hit Dope. She has also starred in films like Neighbours 2 and will star in Sony's upcoming Flatliners.

While The Flash is currently in preproduction and was expected to set for a March 2017 start date with a release date in March of 2018, those dates could change if a director hasn't been found in time.

Clemons continued with, "all I can do is give it up to the gods. Let's see what happens. Let's see who's going to jump in.

"Ezra and I are going to do what we promised to do from the beginning, no matter who the director is, I am going to do what I think Iris should be."

The Flash will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017; followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, Harley Quinn spinoff, a Man of Steel sequel, The Batman, and a Justice League Dark film are currently without release dates.
