Yahya Abdul-Mateen II In Talks For Black Manta In 'Aquaman'

Yahya Abdul-Manteen II, will more than likely join the upcoming James Wan-directed DC film, Aquaman.

Wan, for the past few weeks, has been searching for an actor to play the sea-dwelling villain, and settled with Abdul-Manteen. The deal was sent out Monday, and now parties are in talks.

If the deal goes ahead, we will see Abdul-Manteen suit up as Black Manta. The character, for those who don't know, was once a treasure hunter and mercenary, who was contracted to get Arthur Curry's blood to prove his Atlantean blood. But Thomas Curry, father of Arthur, defended his son leading to his death by heart attack. This lead to Arthur seeking vengeance upon Manta, unfortunately he killed Manta's father, sending Manta down the path of the villain for Arthur.

The film is the next feature from DC Films and Warner Brothers to get cameras rolling, which is expected to begin in April in Australia and then in Italy.

Ben Affleck Vacates Directing Position For 'The Batman'; Studio To Search New Helmer

A decision has been made that Ben Affleck will no longer direct the upcoming DC film, tentatively titled The Batman.

Warner Brothers and Affleck has, for a number of weeks now, made a decision to best serve the Warner Bros. project by letting Affleck vacate the role of director.

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Sources say that the decision was made primarily for the benefit for the film and not the recent box office failure in …

Don't Expect Footage From 'Justice League' Or 'Wonder Woman' Come Super Bowl

Super Bowl has become more than just an American Football final, it has evolved into something much more than that. The event has become a moment in time where not just a bunch of advertisements go on air but there is also a lot of studios promote their upcoming films using television spots.

This year's Super Bowl is no different, as Deadline reports that the big players of filmmaking are prepping to show off some of their films that come out this year. It has been reported that Disney is expected to show off two films, those potentially being Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. 20th Century Fox are expected to promote their psychological thriller A Cure For Wellness with another spot for either Logan or Alien: Covenant.

Paramount are presumed to show off at least one of their films, that film could be Baywatch or the fifth instalment in the Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight.

Finally we have Warner Brothers, who are not taking part …

'Wonder Woman' Director, Patty Jenkins Shares Behind-The-Scenes Photo

Recently much like Justice League director, Zack Snyder, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo Patty Jenkins, the director of the upcoming DC film, Wonder Woman, gave us a look behind the cameras from her film.

Jenkins, taking to her Twitter account, shared with us a look at the recording studio, in which the score of the female-led film is being made, while also giving another look at the film itself albeit a small one.

Man! Last many Fridays have been some of the best in my life. Seeing final effects and recording EPIC score!?!Brings tears to my eyes — Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) January 27, 2017
The film's score is being made by composer Rupert Gregson-Williams, whose most recent work includes The Legend of Tarzan and Hacksaw Ridge, with help from Tina Guo, cellist who crafted the now iconic theme for Diana Prince.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island …

Zack Snyder Shares Behind-The-Scenes Look At Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman For 'Justice League'

The post production side of making DC Films' upcoming Justice League has been coming along nicely for a while now. At present it seems that they are moving to the automated dialogue replacement aka ADR, side of filmmaking as the director, Zack Snyder, has given us a sneak peek behind-the-scenes picture of Gal Gadot doing her part of Diana Prince.

ADR for those who don't know is the process of rerecording of actor's dialogue to improve the overall sound quality in a film.

Snyder, taking to his Vero account posted the photo showing Gadot reading off her lines, but more importantly showing off a moment of footage from the film as well.

A trailer for the film is speculated to drop sometime soon although no confirmation has been announced on that front so, in the meantime, check the special sizzle reel from last year's Comic-Con.

Last night on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, Jason Momoa, star of the upcoming DC films, Justice League and Aquaman, playing Arthur Curry, was one of the guests and as part of his interview, in which he promoted his Netflix show, Frontier, he demonstrated his axe-throwing capabilities.

Recently in Atlantean related news, James Wan, director of Aquaman revealed a photo from the film's table read, which is probably an indication that they will begin filming soon. Principle photography will take place in Queensland, Australia and Sicily, Italy.

Jason Momoa plays the titular role, Arthur Curry, he will be joined by Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko. Aquaman is set for a October 5th, 2018 date directed by James Wan.

Ewen Bremner Teases World War One Role For 'Wonder Woman'

With a few months to go until it is released to the world, there is still quite a lot of information that has not been shared about DC Films' Wonder Woman, which will take place in one of the darkest times in human history, World War One.

One piece of information is who is Ewen Bremer playing in the film. Some might have seen him in the latest trailer showing off a more than flabbergasted grimace. But now, while he "can't say very much" about his part in the superheroine film, Bremner has teased some things.

"I play a character who's enlisted by Wonder Woman to help save the world as part of a small, unlikely band," Bremner explained. "He's a shell-shocked soldier who's been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission."

Recently there has been whispers that Ares, god of war, will show up in the film and be the main protagonist, so it is possible Bremner's character helps Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman defe…

'The Flash' Film To Get Page One Rewrite From Joby Harold

For some time now, there has been no update about one of DC Films' upcoming features, that being The Flash. But now some news has been released regarding the speedster film.

Ever since Rick Famuyiwa left, due to creative differences with executives at Warner Brothers, the film has been put on hold up until now. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword scribe, Joby Harold has been tasked with a page one rewrite of the script, that will be a complete overhaul of what others, like Famuyiwa and Seth Grahame-Smith, had already written in mind for the film.

DC Films and Warner Brothers decided since Ezra Miller, who plays the speedster hero, was set to film the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, that they would concentrate on creating a script.

Kiersey Clemons is still attached to play Iris West, who is expected to have a cameo in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and Billy Crudup will play Henry Allen, father of Barry Allen aka The Flash.

James Wan Shares 'Aquaman' Table Read Photo; Amber Heard Prepping For Mera

Before any film gets the cameras rolling there is always the table-read, to allow actors, directors, and other filmmakers to be prepared. DC Films' upcoming Aquaman feature is no different.

Taking to Twitter, James Wan, the director of the film posted a picture of the supposedly main three actors, those being Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Patrick Wilson, with Wan himself from the film's table read. Wan captioned the picture with, "After school detention with the new Breakfast Club."

Further Evidence Suggest That John Cleese Is Set To Joins DC Films

John Cleese, for those who don't know is a famed comic and actor most notable act was being a member of the British comedian crew, Monty Python, and may indeed be seen in a future DC film.

There is new evidence to suggest that he will show up in such a film. Previously Cleese got folks, like me, speculating that he is joining the DC Extended Universe after following Zack Snyder, director of Justice League and Ben Affleck, who plays the current film version of Batman. Given that this has been proven to be some inclination that someone was to join up with DC Films, it got fans thinking, but no real word has been spoken by both Cleese and DC, however the new evidence suggest that he is partnering with DC Films.

Taking to Twitter, Cleese shared a photo of him in his dressing room, but more importantly showed us a clue that he is being added to the DCEU actor roster.

New 'Justice League' Still Shows Only Four; Plus Superman To Be Integral To The Film

The hotly anticipated Zack Snyder-directed film, Justice League, will be shown to the world come November this year, and will be the first live-action take on the iconic DC Comics team.

Now thanks to Empire Magazine, we have another look at the team well at least a portion of it.

In the above image we have Ben Affleck's Batman, Ezra Miller's The Flash, Ray Fisher's Cyborg, and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, but a few members are not present, namely Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Henry Cavill's Superman.

But rest assured we will see both, but more importantly will be the Man of Steel himself, as Zack Snyder says, "Superman does play a big part in this movie. His presence, and lack of presence, are big story points...

“These guys — Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash — really are just fun to explore. They’re just so fresh. They’re on the edge of their powers at different times in this story and that’s really fun.”

'Gozilla: King Of The Monsters' Makes Michael Dougherty As Director

Krampus director, Michael Dougherty has been brought on to direct the sequel to the 2014 film, Godzilla, for Legendary Pictures.

Dougherty in partnership with Zach Shields, who co-wrote Krampus, initially came on to write the film, and while at the time, reports were claiming that Dougherty was to direct the deal was meant only for a writing position. But having work on the script for some time now, Legendary gave the helming position to him as well.

The film will be made by Legendary, who have placed Alex Garcia to oversee the project for them.

Legendary brokered a deal with Warner Brothers, in order to make a monster universe that includes Godzilla and King Kong, back in October, 2015. The deal made it that Legendary would develop films that Warner Bros. would then distribute, starting with this March's Kong: Skull Island with other films, like Godzilla vs King Kong, in the future getting the same treatment.

'Guardians Of the Galaxy: Vol. 2' To Begin Scoring Process

In my mind a score of a film can in some cases make or break it, a good score will make emotions rise a bad one will make scenes feel empty. Luckily for the first Guardians film, I found the score to be the good kind, and hopefully I can say the same again for the sequel.

The sequel, being Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, will commence the scoring process of filmmaking soon as the director, James Gunn, took to Instagram to tease that he will be reteam with Tyler Bates, who worked on the first film, to score the upcoming feature. Gunn also teased the possibility of livestreaming some of the scoring sessions.

So happy to be back in London this week, recording the score for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with Tyler Bates. I'm going to try and broadcast some of the orchestra playing the score on Facebook live ( I think it's the finest, most emotional work Tyler has ever done. It will probably be 8 or 8:30 PST Wednesday. Stay tuned for more info. A photo posted by…

'Suicide Squad' Helmer, David Ayer Pens Open Letter About Criticisms

Many see directors of films, television shows, or of any medium as people with a somewhat higher stature than most folks, but they seem to mostly forget that directors are just like the rest of us, storytellers.
That said, directors and other filmmakers get more criticisms than what a normal person would get for saying a story they were involved in. David Ayer is among those filmmakers, having made last year's Suicide Squad he has gotten quite a lot of critiques thrown his way for the feature. With the film getting a less than desirable rating on critic sites and the online community voicing their opinions, Ayer has received the full force of this and has now talked about the overall response from the film. — David Ayer (@DavidAyerMovies) January 21, 2017
Taking to his Twitter account, Ayer posted an open letter of sorts noting that he is still an avid fan of making films and DC Comics and will make it right by giving characters the plots th…

The notable director, James Cameron, is planning the future, the future of the Terminator franchise that is.

Cameron, who is the progenitor of the human versus Skynet battle plotline, is taking some steps to bring back the franchise into a new age. He has tapped Deadpool director and VFX guru, Tim Miller, to direct a reboot and conclusion for the film series. Cameron in 2019, will get back certain rights to his creation, and is clearly making steps to make it his own having not being involved with the franchise since the blockbuster hit, Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Skydance Productions, David Ellison, who co-financed Terminator Genisys, is a part of this process by getting prime science fiction writers to invest, creatively, in making the reboot.

To Marvel Studios, Let Angel Nuncio See 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' #HomecomingForAngel

In our day to day lives we sometimes look to out heroes for inspiration, be it Superman, Wonder Woman, or in this case, Spider-Man.

The web-slinging superhero is an inspiration, ideal, or a simple symbol of goodness. For Angel Nuncio, the friendly neighbourhood hero is that very symbol.

Here is Angel, he is an avid fourteen year old fan of Spider-Man who is a part of the Make-A-Wish foundation. He recently was able to see his idol in the recent Captain America: Civil War thanks to it being on Netflix, and he loved Tom Holland's performance. Recently we have been given some new information about the sequel to 20th Century Fox's Deadpool, like who is returning, how will certain characters be brought to life, and more. So here is an omnibus of sorts, compiling the pieces of information.

We will be seeing the return of the characters of Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus, as the writers, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, told in an interview that, "Yeah, [Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus]’ll make at least an appearance." The two first showed up in the first film, both being the bridge that connects Deadpool to the X-Men world.

Following up with the confirmation of those two showing up in the film, along with characters like Cable and Domino, the writers teased that Deadpool 2 will in someway tease X-Force, which is the black operations version of X-Men.

Ben Affleck Talks 'Justice League' Vibe; A More Comfortable Dynamic At Play

One of the upcoming films of this year is Zack Snyder's Justice League, which will see the culmination of may heroic figures in the DC Comics mythology, like Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and many others.

The film will also be more of a celebration of these characters that won't be steeped in the more darker side of heroic intentions that was present in last year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Speaking to Cineplex, Ben Affleck, who plays Bruce Wayne, talked about the superhero team up film.

“Justice League, you probably saw the teaser that came out of Comic-Con; I thought it is nicely emblematic of the kind of minor tone shift and segue in storytelling,” Affleck said. “It’s a little bit lighter, the characters are a little bit more comfortable in themselves, so they can express a wider array of emotions. And there are just more people in it, so it’s more fun. It’s all of these different characters bumping up against each other and the team dynamic offers a lot o…

Stop Asking Ben Affleck 'The Batman' Questions

The esteemed actor, writer, producer, and director is understandably annoyed by the amount of questions he is getting for The Batman. Affleck, who signed on to play the Caped Crusader back in 2013, will indeed be directing a solo film revolving around the vigilante but wishes that he wouldn't get asked constantly about that film.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Affleck vented his natural response to getting those questions.

“Oh my God, it’s such a pain in the ass,” said Affleck. “It’s, like, every time I mention Batman it gets this huge click bait. And when I was doing this movie [Live by Night], it took me two years to get it together, but no one ever asked me “Where is ‘Live by Night’.”

He continued with: “They ask me, ‘Batman, Batman, Batman.’ ‘Batman’ is coming along. It’s going to be great. We’re going to make something really special. We’re going to take the time to make it right. We’re going to do it good. We’re going to do it the right way and the fans are going …

Alexandra, will be the antagonist in Marvel's The Defenders, and while further information is limited, Marco Ramirez has called an "utter badass," to which Weaver plays perfectly. “Sigourney is the kind of person you can buy as the smartest person in the room, who you can also buy as a person holding a flamethrower. Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous.” He said. “I’m sorry. I can only say a bunch of adjectives right now.”
