Marvel Television Casts Anson Mount As Its Black Bolt For 'Marvel's The Inhumans'

Marvel Television today has announced who will lead the Inhumans in their upcoming series, Marvel's The Inhumans.

They have given the role of Black Bolt, the ruler of Attilan and King of the Inhumans whose powers come from uttering a single word that decimates anything in his path, to Anson Mount.

Marvel's The Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Added executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck, “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to br…

One of the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has gained a dedicated following is Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. One of the characters Marvel Studios will soon be introducing us to is Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, who will appear firstly in Avengers: Infinity War before in her own standalone film. Danvers was confirmed to be played by Brie Larson back in July of last year.

Now Larson, while promoting Kong: Skull Island, which she plays in, was asked by Yahoo about the characters unique standing point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Oh, my gosh,” Larson said. “Well, quite simply, she’s kind of like the bridge between these two worlds. She’s the bridge between what’s happening up in space and what’s happening down on Earth.”

For sometime now the film genre of superheroes have been mostly a male driven part of cinema, but in June of this year, it may soon become a more balanced genre as DC Films' Wonder Woman will be released. Why there has been a long wait well it looks like certain female-driven features made the tide change. “People had been trying to develop it, and I think the success of female-driven action films like The Hunger Games really helped people realise there’s an audience,” said producer Deborah Snyder in a new edition of Empire Magazine. “There’s a longevity to the character and what she stands for. She’s stood the test of time.”

The character of Wonder Woman has been in the comics for 75 years and had but only one live-action television series unlike her male counterparts like Batman and Superman. You Can Stop Pestering Zack Snyder For A 'Justice League' Trailer

One of the most anticipated films of this year is the Zack Snyder-directed superhero epic, Justice League, and with it being among the most anticipated like The Last Jedi, fans become fixated on trailers for the film.

A lot of fans will consistently asked the respective directors of films for a trailer, or when a trailer comes out. Most directors if not all, always tend to tweet or share a bit of information in the form of "it is coming soon." Snyder is no different, taking to his latest Vero post, he wrote in the comments, "Trailer is all part of marketing and there is a set schedule for release it's coming soon don't worry."

So fans, you better become more patient and more understanding that a simple request of wanting a trailer just does not work out that way. Be patient and it will come out eventually.

In the interim, you can check out the already released footage from last year's San Diego Comic-Con.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and ins…

Matt Reeves Exits Talks To Direct 'The Batman' For Warner Bros

Affleck and DC Films co-head, Geoff Johns, co-wrote a script together, which is expected to get some form of rewrites in the future.

David F. Sandberg In The Running For 'Shazam' Director Position

While a script is being written by Henry Gayden, New Line Cinema are actively searching for a director for one of their upcoming DC films, Shazam.

It now looks like they may have found their helmer for the project. Sweden-born director, David F. Sandberg, who directed the upcoming Annabelle 2 film, is in talks to direct the DC Comics adaptation for New Line. Having already made a successful film in Lights Out which made $148 million on a $4.9 million budget for the studio, Sandberg obviously became someone they would want to keep around.

Shazam will tell the story of a young boy, Billy Batson, who gets imbued with the power of Shazam, when he shouts out that name. Batson, when in Shazam form, has the powers that include: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Ares, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.

Recently the film was split into two, one revolving around Shazam, the other centring around Black Adam, who will be played by Dw…

'Justice League' Director, Zack Snyder Shares Batman Fighting Parademons(?) Photo

One of the hotly anticipated films that is coming out this year is the Zack Snyder-directed epic of Justice League, which will be the first big-screen adaption of the DC Comics superhero team.

The film wrapped filming back in October, and has now been in the post production side of filmmaking for some time now and will be for a while. Now Snyder, taking to his Vero account has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the film.

Captioning the photo with, "Down at CO3 with Stefan," Snyder gave us a glimpse of a scene from the film, which shows Batman talking on what appears to be some Parademons of some kind perhaps. All one can do for now is speculate who the Gotham Vigilante is attacking but more than likely it is some kind of the aforementioned Parademons, who first graced the screens in Batman v Superman as a part of the Knightmare scenes, and will show up in Justice League.

Dwayne Johnson Talks Black Adam's Heroic Side

One of the things that is in development over at DC Films is a Dwayne Johnson-starring film, Black Adam, which will tell the story of the DC Comics character of the same name.

Johnson on his own YouTube channel had a February fan question and answers, one question was, "You referred to Black Adam as a hero, but he's a villain. What does that mean for the movie?" Johnson replied with it being a question about how we perceive what is a hero and villain. Ending with, "The movie is going to be fantastic and it means it's going to be badass. And it means, to me, he is a hero."

The Black Adam film will be produced by Johnson and one of his producing partners, Hiram Garcia, with Johnson then following up his first Black Adam appearance in a Shazam spin-off film. Both will be made in conjunction with DC Films and New Line Cinema.

Mel Gibson In Early Talks To Direct 'Suicide Squad' Sequel

The Hacksaw Ridge director is being eyed by Warner Brothers.

Mel Gibson has been courted by the studio to direct the sequel to Suicide Squad, along with Daniel Espinosa, Ruben Fleischer, and Jonathan Levine also being eyed as other candidates to helm the project.

An official offer has not been sent out nor has any commitment. Warner Bros. wish for Gibson to familiarise himself with the lore around the DC Comics' property of the same name, and may then be the helmer for the project.

It should be noted that no frontrunner for the directing position has been made known.

David Ayer, the director of the first outing, which starred actors like Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, and Jared Leto, has been tasked to make another DC film. This feature would revolve around Robbie's Harley Quinn along with other Gotham City Sirens like Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Therefore making the studio search for new talent for the Suicide Squad sequel.
