Bill Paxton Passes Away At 61 Years Old

It is with a sigh of remorse that I report of the passing of one of the best actors in the world, Bill Paxton, who has died at the age of 61.

In a statement made by a family representative it was revealed that Paxton died due to surgical implications; “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” the family representative said. “A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

The Texan-born actor has had a stellar career, and is the only one to have faced not just a Terminator in Terminator, but also an Alien in Aliens and a Predator in Predator 2. He starred in many other films, like Twister, True Lies, Thunderbirds, and Edge of Tomorrow.

He also had a career in some television series, most recently in Training Day and Agents of SHIELD, in the latter playing John Garrett, a whimsical character in which he brought an energy to it that wasn't there before.

Here he is in a recent interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden:

Hollywood's reaction to his death:

You will be missed, but not forgotten, Bill Paxton.
