Kym Barrett To Be Costume Designer For 'Aquaman'

With the cinematographer revealed to be Don Burgess, the behind-the-scenes crew for the upcoming DC film, Aquaman, has been taking shape. Now another person of that crew has been revealed.

Kym Barrett, known for her work on The Matrix, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Nice Guys, has added the DC Films' feature to her portfolio on her ICM Partners bio. Barrett will work on the film as the costume designer, and will fabricate what is on the comic panels into real life.

Michael Wilkinson, another costume designer, has already worked on the Atlantean side of the DC Films' Universe, having been the costume designer for multiple DC films including Zack Snyder's Justice League, which features Aquaman, Mera, Vulko, and other Atlantean features. So it will be interesting to see if Barrett continues the existing aesthetic or will put her creative twist on things.

Aquaman will be directed by James Wan, is written by Wan, Geoff Johns, and Will Beall, and it will star Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Nicole Kidman tentatively playing Atlanna, Yahya Abdul-Mantee II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry with Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko. Aquaman releases October 5, 2018.
