Wan along with Will Beal and DC Films co-head Geoff Johns wrote the script for the film, which is set to begin production in May.

The studio also announced a few more dates, Horse Soldiers to release Jan. 19, 2018 and Bastards - an Owen Wilson and Ed Helms comedy - originally a Jan. 27 opening, will now come out Dec. 22, 2017.
