'Legend Of Tarzan' Scribe Adam Cozad In Talks To Write 'Suicide Squad' Sequel

Warner Brothers are in negotiations with Adam Cozad to pen the script for the sequel to their 2016 film Suicide Squad, which gained an Oscar for its makeup and hair department.

The sequel is a high priority for the studio, they have made offers to directors like Mel Gibson to helm the project. Although no director is attached as of now, Warner is actively making the story for the film.

The original film, that was released back in August of 2016, was directed by David Ayer, who also penned the film's script, and made over $740 million in box office revenue making a sequel a reality. The film starred Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, along with many others.

Ayer instead of directing the sequel will work on Gotham City Sirens - a film that will have Robbie's Quinn and will more than likely be accompanied by DC Comics characters Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

Cozad's credits include The Legend of Tarzan, Valiant Comics and Sony's Bloodshot, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit that starred Chris Pine, Underwater - which 20th Century Fox has tapped Kristen Stewart to star, and The Gray Man, a Charlize Theron spy thriller.
