Dolph Lundgren Joins Aboard The 'Aquaman' Cast

Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the Swede will play in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation.

Dolph Lundgren, the actor famed for his role as Ivan Drago in Rocky IV and most recently the Expendables films, has joined the Aquaman cast.

Lundgren, who has a history with comic-book roles in 89' The Punisher and currently in the television series Arrow, will play King Nereus, ruler of Xebel in the James Wan-directed swashbuckling film.

Wan took to his Facebook page to confirm the news and also declaring his joy of having the iconic actor in his film.


Aquaman will be directed by James Wan from a script written by Wan, Will Beall, and DC Films co-head Geoff Johns.

Jason Momoa stars as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Yahya Abdul-Manteen II as Black Manta, with Nicole Kidman as Atlanna and Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry.

It is expected to release December 21, 2018.
