An Otherworldly Being Is Afoot In 'The Shape Of Water' Trailer

Coming from the fantastical storyteller that is Guillermo Del Toro, we have The Shape of Water, which looks to be a rather unique period-piece fantasy feature filled with villainy and heroics.

Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for the film, in which we see Sally Hawkins' Elisa traverse through the mundane working life only to be caught up in a bit of a love story with a creature of inhuman-like visage.

One can watch the trailer down below.

From master story teller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER - an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963.  In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa is trapped in a life of silence and isolation.  Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda discover a secret classified experiment.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro from a screenplay by del Toro and Vanessa Taylor, The Shape of Water stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg and Octavia Spencer. Producing the film are Guillermo del Toro and J. Miles Dale. The Shape of Water is scheduled for a December 8, 2017 US release followed by a February 16, 2018 Irish/British release.
