Geneva Robertson-Dworet To Take Over Writing 'Captain Marvel' For Marvel Studios

Deadline have learned that the writing team for Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel film has been changed.

The Brie Larson-starrer, which is set for a March 8, 2019 release, originally had screenwriters Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman penning the script. Now with LeFauve not being a part of the team, due to co-directing Disney Animation pic Gigantic, Geneva Roberston-Dworet has been brought on board to take over writing duties for the film.

Robertson-Dworet's credits include the upcoming video game-to-live action adaption of Tomb Raider for MGM and Gotham City Sirens, a spin-off of Suicide Squad, which intends on having David Ayer come back to direct with Margot Robbie starring in it as Harley Quinn for Warner Bros.

Captain Marvel will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck of Mississippi Grind fame.
